Winter Edit A/W21
Coat, bag and accessories – the three items that can make or break an outfit. Well, this season all three are making a dramatic statement. From monochromatic colour blocking and long, belted coats to classic shades of brown and practical totes...
After a year of locking down and having a little less fashion-fun, this winter the rule is: anything goes. Here are our top 10 trends for Winter 2021.
1. Chains and Charms
Chains and charms are everywhere on the runway and the highstreets now. Jewellery and clothing may be getting on board with this trend; however, handbags are dominating this metallic frenzy. The winter fashion weeks saw guests arrive clutching bags adorned with lock charms, chain straps, and flashes of hardware wherever possible.
A trend as subtle as this can be easily incorporated into our daily ensemble and will last months, if not years, and if you know us – you’d know we love a trend that will stick around for the long term.
Our “Poppy” handbag from our “Bloomsbury Collection” has a subtle bag charm adorning the front for that extra sophisticated “in season” touch.
2. Coats, Coats, Coats!
A staple for every winter wardrobe, coats are taking charge this A/W21. No need to spend hours perfecting an outfit when you can let your coat do the talking. We have been seeing traditional trench coats with a neon twist, peacoats fashioned from colourful leather and this season, puffer jackets have made their runway debut!
Fashion has finally taken a practical turn, with ankle-grazing longline coats to keep you warm from top to toe and padded jackets to keep us toasty all the way through to February. From the practical to the bold and everything in between, this season is the season to be bright, cosy and bang on trend, all at the same time.
3. Don’t Forget to Shine
There is no better way to cheer up an outfit than with a touch of sparkle and shimmer. Perhaps it’s because we were locked inside for months on end and we have missed the glitz and glam of going out, let alone “out-out” or maybe it is because Christmas is quickly approaching…whatever the reason, metallics are in and we aren’t mad about it.
If you think it is hard to make metallics work, think again. Our “Esmee” crossbody bag from our VIP Collection is easy to wear, practical and perfect for this season. The delicate metallic sheen works well with almost every outfit and with the beautiful chain detail on the strap, you are ticking off all the trends on this season’s list of must-haves.
Our "Esmee" crossbody bag - also available in stunning champagne.
4. Colour Full
This winter will be far from grey with all the colours that have been hitting the runway. From printed scarves to monochromatic suits, it is the season to be bold and have some fun with your outfits.
Our new cashmere collection has everything you will need to keep you warm and stylish this winter. Our "Zenith" cashmere and merino wool shawl boats beautiful shades of pink and blue with a versatile striped design, perfect for adding a pop of colour to any outfit.
5. Totally Totes
Totes are having a big moment in 2021. They are the bag that is always there for you. Whether you need to carry your shopping home, keep everything organised for work or need somewhere you can put whatever the little ones throw your way on the school run, we have a lot to thank the classic tote bag for.
We have the perfect collection of Tote bags available for every outfit and every occasion. Choose from unfussy open-top designs or zipped up totes with lots of pockets and you will be effortlessly chic for many seasons to come.
Our “Pimm” tote bag from our “Gold Collection” is the perfect size for a go-to bag and comes in a variety of different colours to match every outfit.
6. Denim is Back
Calling all millennials… remember when Britney and Justin wore matching denim outfits? We loved it then and we secretly still love it now. Double denim, triple denim, all the denim. It is back and it is on a mission.
You don’t have to end up looking like Jeremy Clarkson to pull off this trend. Team a pair of wide-leg jeans with a white t-shirt and a relaxed denim jacket, and you will take this laid-back look from Top-Gear to high fashion.
7. Y2K
While many of us are happy to leave our 90s and noughties fashion blunders back in the millennium, it would seem they have been stolen, improved, and handed back to us, fashionably superior.
Skinny jeans are out and have been replaced with arguably more flattering styles incorporating loose fits and flares, bold patterns and bright colours are in and blazers are back – the more androgynous the better.
Our “Maddox” handbag in cherry is the ultimate déjà vu accessory. With its shape drawing inspiration from the noughties bowler bags and the daring red colour, it is a versatile statement that can be worn for many seasons to come.
8. Luxurious Leather
Call Ross Geller and tell him to get those pants out from the back of his wardrobe. Leather is having its moment to shine this year and in case you didn’t already know, here at Pure Luxuries, we love leather. With leather shirts, skirts, trousers, shoes and bags, no fashionable stone has been left unturned with this trend.
How to make your leather look fashionable? Double up! Just like double denim, this season, leather looks best with leather. For a statement look, team a leather blazer with leather trousers or keep it casual with a leather jacket and a beautiful handbag.
9. Mock Croc
Another trend that will last for many years to come, the mock croc is an incredibly wearable way to elevate every outfit. Accessorise your LBD with a statement croc clutch or uplift any casual outfit with a croc tote to effortlessly step out in style!
While mock croc is the perfect way to inject style into your ensemble without adding colour, it also looks incredible in vivid colours for a chic and colourful addition to your day.
Our “Havering” tote bag comes in a stunning mock croc design and is available in this season’s most-wanted colours.
10. Black & Brown
Not a fan of bold and daring displays of colour? This trend might be right up your street. While browns have been big all this year, we are now seeing every shade of brown paired with black, and we love it.
No more stressing about wearing brown shoes with a black outfit, simply add a few extra, brown-toned accessories and turn the high-street into your very own runway.
Whatever your trend obsession is this season, we believe that everyone looks their best when they are wearing what they love and for us, classic, timeless styles will never go out of fashion. Whatever your style, remember that fashion legends always stood out from the crowd.
