Valentine's Day - Date and Galentine's Ideas

🕤 3 min read

Some of us have just found their first Valentine, others will be celebrating their 50th year together and then there are my fellow Galentine’s, who are prepping for the greatest girls night yet. So, if you are looking for ways to make the most romantic day of the year extra special this time around, read on for our favourite Valentine’s date ideas.

A Cosy Night in

Sometimes a cosy night in, is exactly what we need and it is the perfect way to spend quality time with each other without the distractions of the outside world. From movie marathons and board game nights to pamper evenings and sleepover parties, there are so many fun things to do from the comfort of your own home.

If you are foodies then why not cook something fun together? Our very own office-chef, Daniel, is putting together a list of romantic recipes for you to try this Valentine’s, which you can take a sneak peak at here.

Happy Galentine’s!

If a girls night is on the cards, why not go all out. There are some amazing Galentine’s decor ideas over on our Pinterest (we aren’t shying away from pink this year!). Get the girls together and go crazy with balloons, streamers, sparkling cocktails and a nostalgic noughties playlist and you’ll be wanting it to be Galentine’s day every February 14th!

Rachael Recommends - Get Creative!

Are you a creative couple? Or, maybe you are newly dating and are looking for something a little more casual? Local art, pottery and poetry workshops are the perfect way to break the ice a little and have lots of creative fun - you could even gift your finished projects to one another!

Depending on your location, there are many varied options to suit every interest. In North London, there is the fantastic Social Pottery Painting - the perfect venue for a date night. Wolverhampton has the incredible Stone Carving Experience or if you are a little further up North, there is the Northumberland National Park Art Walk. If you are lucky enough to be in the Highlands, Glasgow and Edinburgh host various arty workshops all year round!

Adventure Days

Another great date idea for new couples and the adventurous types! Experience days are increasing in popularity once again after our release from lockdown. From hot air balloon journeys to zip lining, there is an activity for any occasion.

For the adventurous types, why not book a day zip lining through the trees or riding in a hot air balloon at sunrise? There are so many different experience days out there that will give the adrenaline junkies the rush they seek!

For the mellow types, who would rather be outdoors than cooped up at home or in a restaurant. A hike with a picnic might be the perfect day for you. Find your local natural place of beauty, whether it is a park, a lake or the mountains of the Lake District

A Smart Choice

For the curious cats out there who are always looking to experience new cultures, spend the day exploring museums or art galleries. Don’t worry about your appetite as many museums also have restaurants on the premises that are definitely worth a visit!

The National Museum of Edinburgh’s Brasserie is a beautiful place to get a bite to eat and while you are there, don’t forget to admire the view from the Rooftop Terrace. For some beautiful artwork, The National Portrait Gallery in London has some of the most famous works of art in the country offering spectacular views across Trafalgar Square.

For the Romantics

A traditional candlelit dinner in your favourite restaurant, a shared dessert, a bottle of wine. The classics are so for a reason. The Pure Luxuries team love a good reliable restaurant perfect for any occasion and can be found in most big cities. The modern Italian stylings of Piccolino has been a quick favourite for a romantic night gorging on exquisite food and with the option to order in, perfect for a night in or out.

However you are planning to spend this Valentine’s Day, we hope you spend it with the people you love.  Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at Pure Luxuries.
