Autumn Edit 2022

🕤 6 min read

While we may only just be prepping our wardrobes for autumn, the fashion world has been getting ready for A/W22 all year long. So, here we are with another seasonal edit, and I have to say, I am pretty excited about this one!

S/S22 was dominated by the Y2K aesthetic, and as someone who lived through the butterfly clips, low-rise jeans and combat trousers of the 90s, I have been eagerly anticipating the moment Y2K got phased out. The fashion police have heard my calls and this season just got a little chicer and a lot more sophisticated, even if it still feels like a trip back in time to the 1990s.

So, let's take a look at some of our favourite wearable trends for autumn 2022!

1. Sporty Spice

Elevated athleisure looks are all the rage this season. But don’t worry, you don’t actually have to head to the dreaded gym to achieve this look. Autumn’s luxurious take on sportswear is better suited to brunch than it is a track day (thank goodness).

For this laid-back and luxe look, we teamed the super on-trend corset and cropped jumper combo with flared leggings, trusty trainers and the beloved Pure Luxuries London ‘Pitunia’ bag in black.

2. The Elegant Equestrian

Giddy-on-up! All things equestrian are back just in time for autumn/winter. Slim trousers, knee boots and saddle bags have been spotted across the runways, and you don’t need your very own pony to pull this look off.

We have teamed a pair of versatile beige trousers with tan knee boots and a cosy cashmere cardigan, then finished the look with a vintage silk scarf and the Pure Luxuries London 'Ambleside' cross body bag in tan from the 'Lakes Collection'. Perfect for the countrybumpkins!

Bonus points for incorporating rich shades of caramel to be extra on-trend!

3. Floor-Sweeping Style

Mini skirts and dresses may have been stealing the show this summer, but as the colder weather approaches, we're seeing more floor-sweeping hemlines. We're not just talking about maxi dresses and skirts, nay nay, we are talking about maxi coats!

If you are worried that this look could swamp you, opt for a coat in a contrasting colour or choose a figure-hugging outfit that shows off your silhouette. We finished this ensemble with heeled booties and the Pure Luxuries London oversized 'Milton' tote in 'Jet Black' for a sophisticated everyday outfit.

4. Romantic Red & Rose

Finally, some colour! In the past, combining pink and red may have been a little saccharine, but it's stunning this season, adding a little warmth to the autumn months.

To achieve this look, be fearless - mix different textures and cuts, but most of all, have fun! We paired this fuchsia satin slip dress with a red cropped satin blouse for a playful and colourful clash. We finished the look with pink sandals and the brand new Conkca London 'Little Wonder' cross body bag in the colours 'Orchid' and 'Blush Pink'. This bag is coming soon, and I can't wait!

5. Back to Black

While on one end of the fashion spectrum we are donning bold and bright reds and pinks, the other is going back to black. With gothic aesthetics coming back on the scene, we are not surprised to see more classic black ensembles making an appearance.

But black doesn’t mean boring… this season, the LBD has had a makeover, featuring delicate cut-out designs, transforming the timeless black dress into a high-fashion statement.

We have paired this dress with the Conkca London 'Senga' cross body clutch bag in black and barely-there heels for a sophisticated evening look.

6. Hell for Leather

We are going hell for leather this season, with leather skirts, dresses and boots taking over the runways and high streets. However, it is the leather jacket that is taking the spotlight.

While the bomber jacket may also be sharing the spotlight, they are an item that comes and goes in the fashion world. A trusty leather jacket is a staple piece that will stand the test of time as an item you can wear again and again - perfect for your sustainable capsule wardrobe.

Add a little grunge to a floral maxi dress, or keep it fashionably casual with a Breton tee, flared jeans and the bang-on-trend structured boots. We have finished this look with the Pure Luxuries London 'Loxford' leather tote bag in vintage black for an edgy and casual look.

7. Of Corset

Whether worn alone or over your favourite dress or t-shirt, the corset is an easy way to elevate any look and add a little structure to your outfit. It has been on trend all summer, but this autumn/winter it is taking a more sophisticated turn.

We have worn this structured black satin corset with black dad jeans, white block-heeled sandals and a plain white tee (to keep it a little casual and modest). Finished with the Conkca London 'Cherish' leather clutch bag, also available in versatile 'Dark Tan' and rich 'Conker Brown'.

8. 50 Shades of Blue

Another colour that has been flooding the fashion world is beautiful blue. From pastel blue sequin dresses to cobalt tailored suits and everything in between, blue is here to stay this autumn/winter.

The best thing about colour trends is you can wear them however you wish. We styled these stunning vintage navy culottes with a pastel blue knitted jumper, knee boots and another new release from Conkca London, the 'Magda' crossbody bag in snorkel blue. We are eagerly awaiting the launch of this stunning new bag, so keep your eyes peeled.

9. Get used to Knit

Knitwear is always a staple in autumn and winter, but this year it is making a statement! Many designers are combining the maxi trend with cable knits for stunning and sophisticated knit dresses with figure-hugging silhouettes.

For a timeless and elegant look, not to mention toasty, we paired this knitted dress with on-trend knee boots and the Pure Luxuries London 'Langdale' crossbody bag in black for a look that can take you from day to night.

10. Green is Still on the Scene

Just because the season is changing, it doesn’t mean the trends from spring and summer are over! Here at Pure Luxuries London, we love all things sustainable and pride ourselves in creating long-lasting, eco-conscious designs that will stand the test of time. Fast fashion is out and slow fashion is in.

For those of you who share our passion for the planet, you will be pleased to know that trends often repeat themselves and some stay in style for months or even years at a time, saving our purse strings and reducing pollution caused by the fashion industry.

Remember the green slip dress that was trending this S/S22? Well, it is still here, and there is no sign of it leaving the spotlight anytime soon.

P.S. To transition a dress such as this into the colder months, try adding a long-sleeved top underneath!
